Project Description

The construction of Astana Alau Ice Palace was completed by Sembol Construction Co. within the frame of 7th Asia 2011 Winter Games Olympics and it was opened with the participation of 8 countries.
The Alau Ice Palace, in which the most important stages of Olympic Games; Ice Skating of 400 meters and Ice Hockey competitions were made, is a sports complex having a seating capacity of 8,773 and which consists of a covered area of 42,670 m2. There are social facilities such as Hotel, Fitness Hall, Restaurants, Library and Conference Hall inside the complex.
Within the Alau Ice Palace complex, an interactively operating Visual Presentation system was set up in general areas (VIP, Sportsmen Entrance, Restaurant, Foyer of Conference and etc) for the purpose of screening 3D introductory films regarding the sportsmen and sports branches of Kazakhstan for the guests and spectators.
The system, which is programmed from one center only in a program flow that was determined over the network, provides the spectators glass-free 3-Dimensional visual and audial effects with the Auto-Stereoscopic display technique. The images, depending on the structures of the places they are used in, are realized by special professional-type monitors of 42” and 57”. The brands of the monitors are Magnetic 3D and the loudspeakers are JBL.
In addition to the fitness and condition halls of Alau Ice Palace, halls of Sports Simulators were constituted for the purpose of both entertainment and technical trainings for Ice Hockey. These interactively operating simulators make the visual and audial game amusing by the help of the motion sensitive IR sensor cameras.
The first simulator is operating as a “Hockey Simulator” which senses the movements of the player and the rubber and plays with the virtual goalkeeper on the display. You can adjust the game to different difficulty levels and hence the duration and technical levels can also be adjusted. The game preferences of the simulator, which has training and entertainment levels, are supported with surround sound and light effects.
The second simulator is an interactively operating “Goaltender Simulation” which enables the players on the display to score a goal against you. This electro-mechanical system, which senses the movements of the goal keeper by the help of IR cameras, realizes beats from 5 different points (backdrop) by adjusting the techniques and speed of the beats. The game preferences of the simulator, which has training and entertainment levels, are supported with surround sound and light effects.
